Sip On Sundays

*

Dearest Diary,

This past Sunday was the epitome

of a #Funday.

We did fabulous

at a new Venue in

Old Oakland.

Here's how it went down:

*

Shewtime,

Dj Vierra Vibe,

and I

put forth our

best team efforts

for at least two weeks prior

sending text messages, emails,

placing phone calls

& utlizing all social media avenues

to get the word out that we were giving

networking mixer

known as,

#SIP: The Sunday Social.

We recieved a very welcoming response

from all those we alerted

yet knew not what to expect on the day of

because as with any event

there are no gurantees

that people will actually show.

Nevertheless

on the day of I awoke with

excitement,

giddy as a piggy kiddy in a candy store

and immediately went into

proper hostess mode.

I did my final round of

reminder text messages,

approximately one tweet,

and an

and then dressed myself for the day.

*

A Light spring dress

with a plunging neckline

and ice cream cone print

paired with a nude heel

that host a gold tip

felt like perfection for me

and so that's what I went with.

*

The weather set the perfect tone

from the jump.

An agreeable 73 degrees or so

of pure & enticing sunshine.

Tree lined streets twinkled

and the sun bounced beam for beam

off of

Classic Downtown Oakland Architecture

all of which was viewable from

811 Washington St.

Where we stood

inside of the sun soaked

brick and white walls of

*

There we escorted in

snack platters

brimming with

fresh fruit, sushi, olives,

cheese & crackers,

and sweet like things

such as macaroons and brownies

all of which pleaded for patrons attention

from two properly dressed tables

in a far corner of the chic setting.

*

3pm was the start time,

Vierra

warmed the room with

her endearing

dj vibe

and so it began...

*

Little by little

small attractive packs

of well dressed, good looking

invitees and non-invitees alike

trickled in

to fill up the room

and make their contribution

to the positive energy

that surged throughout the venue

in it's entirety.

Not a shy being in the place

so it seemed,

as I floated through the crowd

with various divine cocktails

in hand, chatting

with as many lovely faces as I could.

The entire crowd

mixed well and mingled freely

as if we'd all been summoned

to this one place

under the pretense of

simply making the day

as incredible as possible

for both ourselves and each other.

*

Prosecco was poured

and lemon drops were enjoyed

by

doll faced women

in fashionable attire

while more masculine like mixes

of whiskey & cola

rested in the hands of

handsome gentlemen.

*

Lexx Jonez

brought his best

when he hopped on

to spin a few sets

throughout the day

as did my ever amazing DJ

@DCisChillin

and then there was that blessing

of about a

45 minutes musical set by

Mr. Big Von

himself

who came through with

DJ Shazbazz

& Shabazz's

Fabulous Fashionista

of a

Girlfriend

*

Instagram was set ablaze

acting as a

#LIVE newsfeed

with various images & videos

of all the real time action taking place,

which only contributed to the growth of the crowd

that eventually spilled over onto the Washington street sidewalk.

*

The event was set to come to a close at

8PM

but being that

we weren't doing things during

average club hours

we were able to extend that to about

8:45pm.

*

At that time

security ushered all of our guest out,

as the guest pleaded

for us to keep them posted on the next one,

we happily complied and bid them all adieu.

*

This by far is

the best thing

Oakland's seen

in a great while

and we've found that day parties

are just the event platform

that we've been looking for while

Parliament

is just the venue

we've been wishing on stars for.

The ideal place for me to come alive as....

The Perfect Hostess.

xx,

DB
